Sharing

Hooray for Friday!!! :)

Mom says that the day called St. Patrick's Day is coming up, so I will be wearing lots of green things. I'm not sure about this named day yet. I'll have to do some research and get back to you on what I find. Until then, please note my TWO teeth.

Did you see them??

After I got up this morning, I got ready for my day. My shirt said "Irish you would kiss me." Apparently that is related to the day called St. Patrick's Day. I was confused about it, so I spit up on it. After that, my shirt said "Hug me, I'm Irish." That made a little more sense to me, so I went with it. (Sorry, first shirt...)

I had a good day at Mrs. Leigh Ann's. Mom came to get me after school. We came home and I went right to sleep while Mom baked some cakes. Mom was just about to take a nap (she feels really really sick), but I woke up for a snack. I took another little nap. Mom started to take a nap again, but I woke up to play. Mom was happy to play with me though. :)

We went for a quick ride to get Mom some dinner. When we came back, I played in my big toy. While I was in there, The Backyardigans came on tv!! Woo!!

Now that Pablo and Uniqua have finished their Mission to Mars, I think I'm going to wrap up my day. Tomorrow, we will be busy with cakes, but I am going to try to convince Mom to go to the doctor. She is very stubborn...

Was that scary?? It's my aggravated sound. My blog is not working properly tonight, so I'm not going to try much. I had a good day and I hope everyone else did too!!

It's Raining, It's Pouring...

I had a good day today! Yesterday was rough, but today was much better!

Before I went to Mrs. Leigh Ann's, I played in my big toy. You see, if you stick out the Granddaddy tongue, you can get the pandas to do all sorts of things...

I had a good day at Mrs. Leigh Ann's. Aunt Mere picked me up. Mom had to wait on someone to pick up a cake before she could come get me, so I went home with Aunt Mere and waited for Mom. After Mom came to get me, the people that eat solid food ate some dinner and then Mom and I came home. It's raining. A lot. And the tv man says it's going to rain a lot more. I don't really like that. I don't like getting wet when I go outside. Mostly though, I feel sorry for Sadie. Sadie does not like to have wet paws. But Sadie has to go outside to use the potty. Her potty is all wet and yucky. Sometimes she won't even go out the door!! She's starting to give my diapers the eye. I think she's thinking about wearing one. I don't want to have to be the one to break it to her that my diapers won't fit her.

Poor Sadie. I hope the rain stops soon!

Let The Good Times Roll!!

Today is the day called Mardi Gras. Those are fancy French words that mean "Fat Tuesday". I was really confused about why everyone was supposed to be fat and how they were only going to be fat for one day.

Then Mom explained that the day called Mardi Gras is last day before the time called Lent begins. This is the time before the day called Easter. Mom says that lots of people give up something they really really like for the time called Lent and that Mardi Gras is like the last party before that starts. Mom also says that since we are Baptist-type people, we don't really have to give anything up. This is good news to me. I would have missed my applesauce and Violet the dog and I don't think Mom could survive her days at big work without Diet Mountain Dew and chocolate.

Another important thing I learned about Mardi Gras is that you get to wear beads. Pretty, sparkly beads. At the big parties in places like the town called New Orleans, if you yell "Throw me something, mister!!" they fling beads in your general direction. I just looked real cute at Mom and she gave me hers. :)

The last thing I learned about Mardi Gras are some funny words. Laissez les bons temps rouler. I had no idea what Mom was talking about. (Mom just said she would like to be a fly on the wall when Granny Kat reads that to Grandmother. I'm not sure what that means...) Mom told me that it just means "Let the good times roll" in that fancy French language. I think that means you're supposed to have fun.

I didn't have much fun today though. My tummy was hurting and I just felt out of sorts. I didn't have a very good day. I've been better since Mom came home, though. I played, took a bath and ate dinner.

Something peculiar has started happening lately. After dinner, Mom says I have to brush my teeth. She says that people with teeth have to take good care of them and keep them clean. So she puts this blue thing on her finger, squeezes some goo onto it, and shoves it in my mouth. It feels funny and the goo tastes good. It's still weird, though.

It feels funny when she rubs that blue thing in my mouth, but I let her do it because I want to be a good girl with pretty teeth. :)

Now that I've brushed my teeth, I'm going to try to get some sleep. I can go to bed happy!! My Gamecocks just beat those Tigers on the baseball field. Annas do not like tigers...

Doing That Monday Thing

It's back... The day called Monday. It wasn't a bad one.

I got up a little early this morning and had an early snack. Then I went back to sleep. After Mom got ready for work, she helped me get ready for my day.

I had a good day at Mrs. Leigh Ann's. Then something weird happened. Mom came to get me. On a Monday. Mom didn't have little work today. She said it's something called "Spring Break" at little work. I think I like this "Spring Break" thing!

After Mom picked me up, she took me to the doctor's office. Whoa. I wasn't ready for that. Luckily, I wasn't there to get stabbed. I was just there to have my weight checked. Dr. Shuler likes to make sure I'm gaining enough weight. I weigh 13 pounds and 3 ounces now. That's almost a whole pound more than when I went for my 6 month appointment. Mom calls me her "sweet tiny girl". I like that. :)

Well, I'm ready for bed. Unfortunately, it's not "Spring Break" at big work, so Mom will have her long Tuesday tomorrow. Boo.

The Miserables

I woke up early this morning. Well, early for a Sunday. It was 6:00. I was ready to play. Mom was...well, Mom wasn't really ready to play. So she let me lay in the bed with her and watch Sesame Street.

After we got up, Aunt Trina came to play with me. Actually, she came to pick up her Granny's birthday cake, but she played with me too. I had a good time playing with her and laughing. :)

Mom made me try on my new hat. We got it at the WeeSale. I wasn't too sure about it.

Mom says that if my head doesn't get ginormous, it will be a great sun hat this summer. I don't think my head is going to get ginormous. That would just be weird...

I showed Aunt Trina my funny tongue trick.

After Aunt Trina left, I got ready and we went to Grandmom and Granddad's. I took a nap while the solid food eaters had lunch.

After lunch, Mom and I went to the WeeSale again. Mom said that a lot of the things that were left would be half the price. That sounded good to me. Sounded like I would get more stuff. I got some more new outfits and another new movie. Then we went to Target. That wasn't very exciting. We were just there to get detergent for the washing machine. No toys. Oh well.

Tonight, we've been watching something special on tv. There's a concert on PBS. Something called Les Miserables.

I'm a little confused about it. Apparently, all of these people are miserable. They are sad. But they are singing. A lot. So far, this is what I understand. There's a man with a funny name. He sounds like a Dr. Seuss character. He must be in some kind of trouble because there is a policeman singing about trying to catch him. There's a lady too. She was very sad, then she was sick, then she was gone. There's a little girl that lives with some loud, obese people. The Funny Name Man went and got the little girl and she lived with him after that. She grew up. The policeman keeps chasing the Funny Name Man. The grown up little girl met a boy. He hangs around with some people who are upset about something or other. They hang out at something called "The Barricade". The policeman was there. The Funny Name Man sent him away and he never came back. There was a big fight with lots of loud noise. Lots of people went away. The boy and the grown up girl got married and the Funny Name Man went away. I think that's it.

It was pretty serious, but the music was very nice. Mom was singing. I liked the song the little girl sang about the castle. It was nice and it made me smile. Mostly, I felt sorry for the miserable people.

This has been a very interesting cultural experience. I am very tired now. Monday will be here very shortly and I think I had better get some rest!!

BIG Toy and Dr. Seuss

Wow! When I woke up this morning, my cool new toy was ready for me!! Mom put it together for me while I was sleeping. :)

It's so great. It has so many things for me to play with! This bird was giving me the eye, though.

So I just flipped him over. Take that, bird!!

I had a great time playing in my new toy while Mom worked on her cakes. She had lots to do, so I was a very good girl.

This afternoon, Mrs. Anne came to play with me. Well, she came to get a cake, but she stayed to play with me. I hadn't seen her since right after I came to the outside. I had lots of fun playing with her. I took a long nap after she left.

Tonight, Mom read some stories by Dr. Seuss to me. She said that his birthday was Wednesday. She said we would have celebrated on the day, but we were super busy and I fell asleep before I got to hear my night night story. Mom says that Dr. Seuss was a very important "author". That's a person that writes books. Tonight, we read Horton Hatches The Egg and Yertle the Turtle. I really enjoyed Horton. He is such a faithful elephant. :) If you haven't read a Dr. Seuss story this week, you should!!
