Weekend Update...Spider Monkey Edition

This was a good weekend, even without my Gamecocks! (They were on a break this weekend. Mom says it's called a "bye week".)

Yesterday, I got up and had some breakfast. I played for a while and then I took a nap. After my nap, I watched some football with Mom. Mrs. Lesley came and watched some football with us. Then we went shopping together! We went to Old Navy and Marshall's. I got some new shoes!! When we came back, Grandmom and Granddad came to my house. (They kind of had to. I was playing with Mom's keys and she sort of locked the door behind her without getting the keys.) They came to let us in. Then we went to dinner together. I had shrimp, french fries, hushpuppies, some of Grandmom's baked potato, and some of Granddad's sweet potato. Yum!! After dinner, we came home and I got ready for bed.

This morning, I surprised Mom by showing up in her room. Mom always waits in her room until she hears me talking on Sunday mornings. This morning, I got out of my bed and went in her room to see her. She freaked out when she saw me. Then she started calling me a "spider monkey". I guess maybe I wasn't supposed to get out of my bed. Oops.

After breakfast and a nap, we went to Grandmom and Granddad's for lunch. After lunch, we came back home and I took another nap. Mom made a cake while I slept and when I woke up, one of the ladies from big work came to pick up the cake. After that, Mom and I went to Michael's.

When we came home, I had dinner and Mom took my picture with two of my pumpkins.

Then she did something funny. She put all this stuff on a table and started doing stuff to one of my pumpkins. I watched her. It was unusual. When she stopped, she turned off all the lights and this is what I saw on my pumpkin!!

DORA!!

On a pumpkin! Oh, I love it!! My Mom is so fun sometimes!

Now that all of that excitement is over, I think I'll go to bed. I wonder what Mom will do to my other pumpkins....???

Eek! A Mouse!

Today was kind of a weird day. My BFF wasn't at Mrs. Leigh Ann's. Poor Brenna has been sick all week! But Josh and Lauren were there because they didn't have to go to school today. I had a pretty good day.

Mom came to pick me up. We went to WalMart to pick up a few things. We picked out some pumpkins to bring home!

When we got home, we played for a little bit and then Mom made dinner. After we ate, I watched the Backyardigans and Mom did some stuff. Mom has used her powers for good. She made my costume for the day called Halloween. She finished it after dinner. I had to try it on, of course. I really like it. :)

Mom asked me to sit with two of our pumpkins, so I did.

I am very serious about being Minnie Mouse.

After I tried on my costume, I got ready for bed. It's been a long week and I think I need the rest!!

Brrrrrrr!

Well, all of a sudden it's cold. It was 80 degrees a couple of days ago. It was in the 40s this morning. Brrrrrr. Time for cute warm clothes and hats!

I had an okay day today. It wasn't the best day ever. Grandmom got me from Mrs. Leigh Ann's and brought me home. I played with Mom and played by myself.

After dinner, I took a bath. I'm pretty tired now, so I'm off to bed. Mom is working on a project for me for the day called Halloween...

My Bad...

After a very good night's sleep, I got up and got ready for my day. Grandmom came and got me and took me to Mrs. Leigh Ann's.

As I get older, I am learning that there are some things that you are just not supposed to do. I am filing them away for future reference. I put something in the file today. Apparently, you're not allowed to pick up the phone and push the 9, the 1, and the 1, in that order. It seems that if you do this, the police will come to check on you. The police are very busy people (Mom said "Seriously, how busy could the York police be?") and I guess they don't like to come out just to hang out. Mrs. Leigh Ann told me not to do that again. I'll try to remember that.

Grandmom came and got me this afternoon and brought me home after Mom got back from little work. Mom still doesn't feel very well, so Grandmom thought that would help her. Grandmom is so great. We brought dinner home and I got to have yummy noodles with Mom.

I've had a bath now and I'm ready for bed. It was a busy day.

I'm sorry for calling the police, EE. Lesson learned.

Failure

Sorry about yesterday's blog. Mom is not feeling well and she fell asleep before she remembered to put the computer down low enough for me to reach it. We are both very sorry.

I played for a little while this morning before I went to Mrs. Leigh Ann's.

I had a pretty good day. Mom had a long day at big work, so I played at Grandmom and Granddad's. Mom came in for a minute and left again. She went to see the doctor. I can't believe where she had to get a shot!!!

It's pretty late now and it's raining. Boo to the rain.

I'm going to have to go to bed. I'm so tired from waiting all day for Mom!!

Sad Gamecock

Today started out okay. I had breakfast (regular breakfast AND an apple cider doughnut!) and played while I watched Yo Gabba Gabba. After I played for a while, I took a bath and then took a nap.

When I woke up from my nap, we went to Grandmom and Granddad's. Because I had slept for so long, we almost missed lunch! Everybody was almost finished when we got there! Luckily, they saved us some food, so I got to eat. After lunch, I played with Mom in my cage. That's when the news came.

Marcus Lattimore will not be playing football for the rest of the season. That bad, bad #5 from Mississippi State hurt his leg so much that he has to have surgery. I hope that #5 feels like the dirty dog that he is. This is really bad news for my Gamecocks. Cocky and I both needed a hug.

But in the words of Coach Tanner, it's time to "win anyway". Maybe Coach Tanner needs to go talk to the football team...

After this bad news, Mom and I came home to take a nap. After our nap, we met Granny Kat, Katie, and Bobby for dinner. We went to O'Charley's. They didn't have a highchair for me. Boo. So we went to Longhorn. They didn't have a chair for any of us. We tried Chili's. They were closed. We ended up at Olive Garden. That was fine with me. I'm a noodle junkie. I ate a whole breadstick and some of Mom's ziti. She said I ate more of her ziti than she did. I couldn't help it. It was good.

After dinner, we came home. I played for a little while and now I'm finally ready for bed. You might notice that there are no pictures of me today. Mom is a slack photographer. (She's allowed to forget every once in a while, as long as she doesn't make it a habit!) I'm sure I'll be back in front of the camera tomorrow.

Apples and Pigskins

After breakfast this morning, we got dressed and went to Aunt Mere's. We all (except for Uncle Corey) went to Windy Hill to the Apple Festival! We listened to the Johnny Appleseed story, talked to some goats, and went on a hayride!

I got to pick out my very own pumpkin!

I saw the piglets again as we walked around the farm.

The best part came when we went to sit down. I had an apple cider doughnut!!

And some apple cider!!

And I tried some of Mom's caramel apple! It was all so yummy!

While we had our snack, we listened to Mr. Mark's band, Easy Pickin's, play. I love banjo music!!
When we were finished with our snack, we left the festival. I was EXHAUSTED!

I slept for a long, long time after we got home. When I woke up, the first half of the football game was over!! I got my gear on and watched with Mom.

It was another rough game for my Gamecocks, but we were victorious once again. We suffered a great loss though. My Gamecock, Marcus Lattimore, was hurt in today's game. We're not sure yet how badly he is hurt, but I know that I hope he feels better really soon. He's such a great guy and such a great football player. He doesn't deserve to be hurt.

After the game, Mom let me watch the Backyardigans. Then we went to WalMart. When we got home, we had dinner and watched more football. Those dirty Tigers. Blech. I didn't pay much attention to that. I was playing.

With the exception of our Marcus getting hurt, it's been a pretty great day!!
