Why couldn't the Clemson football team make chocolate chip cookies? Because it took them too long to peel the M&Ms!! Bahahahahahaha!!
Hahahaha. Ok. I'm alright now. Today was the big game. Those dirty old Tigers came to Columbia. It was for real. It was for all the marbles. It was for bragging rights for a year. And I had to wait ALL DAY!!!
Mom and I had a good day. We played and played all day long. I took some naps, we ate some food (most notably Grandmother Auten's fruit salad), and we played and played. FINALLY, it was time for the game! I did some stretches to get ready.
The Gamecocks got off to a good start and got on the board first. They shut down the Tigers and scored again. The Tigers got to score because of a ridiculous call by the ACC officials. (That's what Mom called them. Except she said they were "Blankety-blank ACC officials".) Our kicker really messed up and the Tigers got the ball where they weren't supposed to have it. Our defense is tough, though, and they only got 3 points. After that, it was pretty much all Gamecocks. The Tigers got 3 more little points, but that was it. At the end of the game, it was 34-13 and the Gamecocks were victorious!! Take your furry tails back to the foothills, Tigers!!
Or as Auntie Trina would say, "Kick Rocks!" Heeheehee. I am so proud of my Gamecocks! It's been a tricky season. We sent Stephen Garcia away. We lost Marcus Lattimore to a knee injury. At times it has seemed like the list of uninjured Gamecocks was shorter than the injury list. But at the end of the day, my football playing Gamecocks learned a lesson from our Back-to-Back National Champion baseball team. They learned to "Win Anyway". We finished the season with 10 wins and only 2 losses. That is something to be proud of.
And Mom says we're not finished. She says we get to play in one of those bonus games called a "Bowl Game" in January. She said we don't know which one yet, but she'll let me know! That's very exciting news!
This happy little Gamecock is signing off! State Champions for another year!!
