Before I Forget!

Time to blog about snow day number four! It was another great day! Nothing special, just hanging out with Mom. Mom's been so happy on these snow days. She hasn't seemed tired or aggravated or anything. She's been so cheerful. She says it's because she's gotten to spend extra time with me. :)

I'm cheery like that. See?

Looking back, I'm not sure what I did all day. I ate. I played. I took some very short naps. I watched Sesame Street. Grandmom came by for a minute.

And I played the piano.

Mom has to go to big work tomorrow. She says she won't be gone long because she gets to go in late. I hope the roads are safe for her. I'm going to play with Grandmom tomorrow while Mom is gone. That should be fun. :)

Oops!

I forgot to blog last night before I went to bed! Oops!

Mom and I had another great day! We just stayed at our house and played. The sun came out and some of the ice started to melt away. We can see the grass in the front of our house, but the back yard is still a solid sheet of ice on top of a lot of snow.

I wrestled with this ball.

That thing will jump on you when you're not looking.

I won the battle.

I played in the floor a lot yesterday. (If you notice my wardrobe change, I decided I didn't want to wear that first outfit anymore, so I spit up on it. Mom changed me into the monkey felon outfit.)

I did a little piano playing, all the while keeping my hand on that attack ball.

Grandmom and Granddad came in the afternoon! I was so excited! I hadn't seen anybody but Mom since Sunday!! They brought us some more groceries so I didn't have to go out in the cold. (I think they kinda wanted to see me, too!)

Mom's big work is not open again today. They say the side roads where she works are still very dangerous. She has to go to work again tomorrow, but not until 10:00. And tomorrow is the day called Friday, so she'll be right back home with me again! AND Monday is some sort of holiday, so she doesn't have big or little work Monday either! A baby could get used to this!! (Mom says that a mommy could too!)

Snow Day #2

Today was our second snow day. Mom said it was really more of an "ice day", though. At some point in the evening/night, everything became covered with a thick layer of ice. Outside looked weird. Mom said we couldn't play out there today because it was dangerous. Sadie fell down when she went outside. Poor puppy. :(

Since I couldn't play in the snow anymore, I played inside instead. I love playing in the floor!

Every once in a while, I check to make sure Mom is looking at me. :)

I was lazy today. I ate, slept, and played. It was a good day!

And guess what?!? No big or little work tomorrow either! Snow Day (or Ice Day) Number Three!

The Meaning of "Snow Day"

First of all, you're supposed to sleep late on a snow day. So I slept all night, all the way to 8:00!!

Mom and I had breakfast and played. While I played with some of my toys, Mom made a hat for me. See it?

I watched Sesame Street while Mom got clean and dressed and then I got dressed, too. Mom put my hat, my scarf (she made that this morning, too), and my jacket on me. She put her warm stuff on too.

After we were all covered in our warm clothes, we went outside. Boy, did it look different out there! Everything was covered in fluffy white snow! This was WAY more snow than the Christmas snow!

I got down on the ground to check it out. The fluffy white snow was still falling out of the sky, too!

Mom put down a plastic bag and a blanket and my Bumbo for me to sit in. I liked that better than sitting on the ground. I could look around better.

This snow was super pretty. And there was lots of it!

I studied it carefully.

I took a minute to pose with Mom. She had snow in her hair. :)

It was really quite cold outside, so we only stayed for a few minutes. Mom said she didn't want me to get too cold. (I don't think she wanted to get too cold either!)

I had a snack and then took a nap while Mom made lunch. When I woke up, Mom was making something called "snow cream". If you are unaware of what this means, I can explain it to you. You go outside and get snow in a bowl. Mom says you have to be careful to get clean snow off the top so that you don't get dirt and other yucky stuff in your bowl too! After you have a bowl of snow, you put milk and sugar and something called vanilla in it and mix it all up and it turns into ice cream! Mom did all of this. Then she put some in a bowl for Sadie. Sadie licked it all up. Then she put some in a bowl for her. She got two spoons. She had a big spoon and a little spoon. Mom put me in my Bumbo and told me she was going to share!

I'd never eaten anything from a spoon before! I've seen the people with teeth do it before plenty of times. Mom put a little bit of the snow cream on the little spoon and held it out for me.

I tasted it. It was SO yummy! I took the spoon away from Mom.

She let me have another bite. She said I couldn't have too much because it might hurt my tummy.

I didn't feel hurt. I felt great! I licked every bit of that snow cream off of my spoon!!

Mom said I couldn't have more though. That was ok. I understood. She was just trying to keep me from feeling bad.

I took an extra long nap this afternoon. I was all snuggled up on Mom's lap. After my nap, I played and watched the Backyardigans. I took a bath and put my jammies on and now it's time for bed.

It was a great day! I got to spend the whole day with Mom. She said she had such a great day with me. I also have great news! We have another snow day tomorrow!! Because it snowed so much and now there's something going on about ice, Mom doesn't have to go to big work again tomorrow!! Woohoo!!!! :)

It's Coming!

Oh, hey! Check me out!

I had on my sassy boots today. :) I just wanted to wear them. Aren't they neat?

After we got ready, we went to Grandmom and Granddad's. Grandmom let me sit in her little chair. She told me it was her chair when she was a little girl. Granddaddy Auten fixed it up and made it pretty so Brenna and I can sit in it. :)

After the people with teeth had their food, Mom and Aunt Mere took off on some sort of adventure. Something about Colin's boots. I stayed with Grandmom and Granddad.

When Mom came back, she gave me a caterpillar. She said it was a very hungry caterpillar. It was colorful and cute. After that, we came home.

I put on my snowman jammies and played in the floor. I rolled all over the place. Back to front, front to back, back to front, on my blanket, off my blanket...anywhere I could go! I had so much fun!

I'm wearing my snowman jammies because the weather guy says that a "major winter storm is heading our way". Mom already knows that she doesn't have to go to big work. She says that tomorrow when I wake up, everything will probably be covered with snow already. She says that tomorrow is called a "snow day" and is very special because it is an unscheduled vacation day and nobody is sick or hurt. She says we are going to have lots of fun tomorrow because you are supposed to have lots of fun on a snow day. I'm excited about it! I'm going to head to bed so that I'll have lots of energy tomorrow!!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!

Until Next Time...

Hey, Saturday!! I missed you!

It was a good day! Mom and I had snacks and played. I had a nap. I watched The Backyardigans while Mom did some stuff and I took another nap.

When I woke up, my Christmas tree was gone! This big round chair was in its spot! Ah!!

When I asked Mom about it, she said that because the day called Christmas had come and gone, it was time for the tree to go away too. It made me sad because I loved my sparkly tree! Mom also said it will be back again in the month called November. That made me feel happier, although I'm not sure when that month comes back.

After I had solved the case of the missing tree, I played with my zoo. It is a super fun zoo!

After play time, I got ready for bed. Mom put me in a bag! AAH! Where are my feet?!? Oh well. The bag for sleeping is fuzzy and warm. AND it has elephants!

Now that I'm all cozy, I think I'll go to bed. Goodnight!!

It's About Time!

Wait a minute! What did you say?!?

It's Friday?!? Wahoooooo! :)

I had a good day today. We had a little celebration for Laine and Brenna at Mrs. Leigh Ann's today. Laine's birthday is this weekend. And Brenna's was last week while we were on vacation. Mom picked me up today. I liked that! But then she made me go to that WalMart place. Yuck. She said she needed food in case the snow comes. Apparently, the weather people said that it might snow again. I don't believe it! I need to see a weather report!

Anyway, if it snows, I guess we're ready. On a totally unrelated note, have you seen my shoes? Aren't they cute? I love how they match this shirt. They are so interesting down there covering up my piggies!

I hope this weekend goes by slowly. I'm not ready to send Mom back to big work again!

Have a great weekend!!
