The Man!

It is cold, y'all! I'm talking about COLD!! I've never felt cold like this before. When Mom and I woke up today, it was 12 degrees outside. 12!! The outside could only find 12 tiny degrees to use!! C.O.L.D. Mom made sure I was dressed warmly. :)

I had a better day today. Mom had a long day at big work. Grandmom and Granddad brought me home. They were going somewhere. Mom changed my clothes and said we were going somewhere special.

I took a quick nap in the car and then we were there. At big work!! I had been there before, so I recognized it. I didn't understand why we were going to big work at night time. Mom showed me her classroom again. I haven't seen it since I was little. She let me see her instruments.

She let me get out of my seat and she took me around to see some nice people. I saw lots of people that I haven't seen since I was very small. They all said the same things. "Look at those eyes", "Look at all that hair", and "She looks just like her mommy." It was nice to see a lot of friendly people.

Then I met someone very different! It was an elf!!! A real, live, pointy-eared elf!!! At Mom's work!! Mom said the elf's name was Mrs. Tami. I studied her very closely. I found her brightly colored elf clothes, her funny hat, and her pointy ears to be very interesting!! She was lots of fun to talk to!

Then something amazing happened. I met the man. The man called Santa. Oh my goodness. He was SO nice! He had a fuzzy red suit just like my dress. He had a fuzzy red hat. He wore big black boots and white gloves. He had a really fluffy white beard and cute little glasses. He looked just like I imagined he would!!! I studied him very carefully for a bit while Mom was holding me. Then, I got to sit on his lap! Me! On Santa's lap!! He held me and talked to me so sweetly. I was just amazed by him.

I had my pictures made with the man called Santa. Mom will get those tomorrow when she goes back to big work. I'll put them here when she gives them to me. This is just a preview...

Isn't Santa amazing?? I'm so glad I got to meet him!!!

Monday And I Are Not Friends

Yep. This pretty much sums up Mondays. Especially this one.

I am not feeling my best. I got sick on ALL of my clothes today. Mom packs a lot of clothes for me every day. I went through all of them. Not a good day at all. I barely even opened my eyes for Mom when she came home tonight. I don't have a lot to say other than that I do not feel like myself and I am going back to bed. I hope tomorrow is better. See my hopeful face??

Goodnight, moon.

Little Elf

Sunday with Mom! Woo! We spent the whole day together, just us! Granddad and Grandmom were in Tennessee, so we didn't get to see them today. Mom and I made our Christmas cards, went and picked them up, hung out, took naps, and played!

See my shirt? It says "I love Santa". From what I understand, Santa is the man with the plan this time of year. Mom says that Santa brings presents to good little girls and boys on the night before the day called Christmas. Now, not that I really need presents, but I don't want anyone to think I'm not a good girl, so I figure it's time to start thinking about this Santa man.

Kissing up a little with a message of love on my shirt can't hurt, right?!?

Mom made me put this picture on here. I think it's silly. She thought my pants were extremely cute. Apparently the man called Santa has pet reindeer that fly his sleigh. So there's a reindeer on my bottom.

After my nap, I helped Mom do some stuff. She called it "wrapping presents". She got out all of these rolls of pretty paper and these round things with different colored ribbons on them. I found the process very interesting.

This green ribbon was my favorite. I tried really hard to get it, but it was heavy.

Mom gave me this bow to play with while I was helping.

I had fun helping Mom wrap presents. She said we'll do it again later. I hope that Santa man is watching me be a good helper!!

Disappointment in the Dome

Saturday. Game Day. It was a cold and rainy day, so Mom and I spent most of the morning inside. Then she made me go to that place. WalMart. I do not like it, Sam I Am. It was especially crowded and busy this time. Yuck. There was something falling from the sky that was different. It kinda hurt when it hit me and it was very cold. Mom said it was called "sleet". Mom had my covered up in my seat so the sleet couldn't get me.

After WalMart, I took a nap and Mom did some kitchen stuff. Then we went to Aunt Mere's to watch the game. This was not just any game. My Gamecocks finished their regular season last week at Clemson. This was an extra game. A special game. Only two teams in the SEC got to play in it and you had to earn the right to be there by being good all season. My Gamecocks got to play because they did such a good job all year. I am very proud of them. I was very nervous though. This was a big deal. So I put on my game face.

The first half started out okay. Those Auburn Tigers scored right away, but my Gamecocks came back and answered them with a touchdown of their own. Then things got kind of bad. Nobody could seem to stop their superstar (and super crooked, if you ask me) quarterback. Things were looking up right at the end of the first half. The Gamecocks scored another touchdown. But then the Tigers got super lucky and scored one too. I didn't like the looks of it.

The second half was just ugly. My Gamecocks couldn't do anything right and Scam, I mean Cam, couldn't do anything wrong. Their score kept going up and up and ours only changed one more time when Spencer kicked a field goal. As I have said before, Annas do NOT like Tigers!! I lost interest and started playing with my pibey.

This was not the game we had hoped for. This was not the game that so many Gamecock fans have waited for for such a long time. It was disappointing. Mom reminded me that it was an accomplishment to get to play in this big game at all. She said we should still be proud of our Gamecocks. I'm always proud of my Gamecocks. Anybody that says anything bad about them can come talk to me. I'll give them the Anna stare. That'll teach them.

I don't know what I'll do next Saturday without my Gamecocks. Mom says they're finished for a while, but not for the year. She says they get to play in something called a "bowl game". I think there are too many of them to fit into a bowl, but I guess Mom knows what she's talking about. I don't know what I'll wear for that bowl game. Mom says my overalls are getting too short!!

As always, GO COCKS!

Friday

Friday was another different day. I couldn't go to Mrs. Leigh Ann's because Salleigh was sick. I spent the day with Aunt Mere and Brenna instead. Mom and I got up early so she could take me there. She let me wear my pajamas because it was so early and so cold.

I had a good day. I played and had snacks and took naps. I had fun playing with Aunt Mere and Brenna.

After we went to get Colin from school, Mom came to pick me up. When we got home, I helped Mom make a cake. It was a big cake with lots of Gamecock things on it. I liked it a lot!

It was a good day. It was even better because I know that Friday brings the weekend. I love the weekend!!

Famous

Well, today was a different kind of day! Mom didn't go to big work. I wasn't sure why until later in the day.

This morning, Mom and I played and snuggled. It was super cold outside, so we stayed in! In the early afternoon, Mom got me ready and said we had to go. We went to see a doctor called a cardiologist. Mom said that's just a fancy word for a heart doctor. Dr. Shuler told me at my last appointment that I should go see this fancy doctor. Mom looked a little worried, but she told me it would be ok.

When we got there, this nice nurse took me (and Mom) to a room. She weighed me (12 pounds, 2 ounces) and measured me (24 inches). It seemed like a pretty normal visit to the doctor to me. And then things got weird. She put this little red light on a wire on my foot. She said something about checking my oxygen, whatever that means. Then she put ten little stickers all over my chest. She hooked a wire to each sticker. She said she had to do something called an "EKG". This machine printed a picture of all these squiggly, spiky lines. Um, ok. Then she moved the little light up wire on my foot and told the EKG thingy to make another picture. I was getting a little bit freaked out. It was weird. I had more wires on me than our Christmas tree! But then the little nurse said she was finished and she took all the wires off of me. Then she wrapped this thing around my arm and said something to Mom about "blood pressure". This was definitely not a regular doctor visit! After she was finished with the blood pressure thingy, she took all the little stickers off of me. It hurt and I cried. I do not want any more stickers on me ever!

After all of that, we went to another room to wait for the doctor. He came in and checked me out. He had a little spaceship thingy like Dr. Shuler's and he listened to my chest and my back. When he was finished, he told us that I have an innocent murmur called a Still's murmur. He said it sounds like someone plucking a guitar string. He said that it will not bother me at all and that I'll never notice it. It will most likely go away when I get bigger. He said it was nothing to worry about at all and that I just have a "musical heart."

Mom felt better after that. We thanked the nice doctor and left. Then, as if I hadn't suffered enough, Mom made me go to WalMart. Ugh. After WalMart, I slept for a long time. I'd had a rough day!

After my nap, I got some more good news! I'm famous! OK, maybe not, but I was on the news. Mom thought I might be, so she tuned in to the local news station. There I was! Right on the screen! Waving at the parade yesterday. See me?

That's Brenna beside me. It was so exciting to see myself on television! Then Mom showed it to me again on CN2.com.

I'm pretty sure this will be the start of my career in show business. The camera loves me! :)

The Parade

Yesterday was exciting! It was so exciting that I fell asleep last night before I blogged about my adventures!

It started as a pretty normal day. Mom went to big work, I went to Mrs. Leigh Ann's. But then, after Aunt Mere picked me up, we went to a parade! I knew what parades were because I watched that big one on TV last week. But I got to go to this one for real. Aunt Mere, Brenna, and I picked Mom and Colin up at Grandmom's and headed uptown.

Mom went bonkers, I think, because when we got there, she put shoes on me. She zipped my jacket all the way up and made me put the hood on my head. (She messed up my hair!!) AND she put big fuzzy socks on my HANDS! Socks do not go on your hands, Mom. She said it was because it was cold outside and we were going to be sitting outside for a while. Then she wrapped me in my blanket and we went to find a good spot.

I let Brenna borrow my hat because it was too big for me and I didn't want her head to be cold. :)

We sat by the road and waited for the parade.

The parade came along the street. I saw police cars and fire trucks and people waving. I really liked the men in the tiny red cars. They were going so fast! And they weren't going straight, either! They were driving all over the place! It was very exciting!!

I wanted the little cars to come back. I watched them for as long as I could.

I saw lots more things. There was a band that played music, big floats with smiling, waving people, little girls dancing, and people riding in and on cars.
It was very interesting to watch.

It made me really tired though!!!

I woke up right at the end, just in time to see Santa Claus!!! I waved at him and he waved back!!!
After the parade, Mom and I came home and had a snack and I went to sleep. I was SO tired from all the excitement!!!
