Disappointment in the Dome

Saturday. Game Day. It was a cold and rainy day, so Mom and I spent most of the morning inside. Then she made me go to that place. WalMart. I do not like it, Sam I Am. It was especially crowded and busy this time. Yuck. There was something falling from the sky that was different. It kinda hurt when it hit me and it was very cold. Mom said it was called "sleet". Mom had my covered up in my seat so the sleet couldn't get me.

After WalMart, I took a nap and Mom did some kitchen stuff. Then we went to Aunt Mere's to watch the game. This was not just any game. My Gamecocks finished their regular season last week at Clemson. This was an extra game. A special game. Only two teams in the SEC got to play in it and you had to earn the right to be there by being good all season. My Gamecocks got to play because they did such a good job all year. I am very proud of them. I was very nervous though. This was a big deal. So I put on my game face.

The first half started out okay. Those Auburn Tigers scored right away, but my Gamecocks came back and answered them with a touchdown of their own. Then things got kind of bad. Nobody could seem to stop their superstar (and super crooked, if you ask me) quarterback. Things were looking up right at the end of the first half. The Gamecocks scored another touchdown. But then the Tigers got super lucky and scored one too. I didn't like the looks of it.

The second half was just ugly. My Gamecocks couldn't do anything right and Scam, I mean Cam, couldn't do anything wrong. Their score kept going up and up and ours only changed one more time when Spencer kicked a field goal. As I have said before, Annas do NOT like Tigers!! I lost interest and started playing with my pibey.

This was not the game we had hoped for. This was not the game that so many Gamecock fans have waited for for such a long time. It was disappointing. Mom reminded me that it was an accomplishment to get to play in this big game at all. She said we should still be proud of our Gamecocks. I'm always proud of my Gamecocks. Anybody that says anything bad about them can come talk to me. I'll give them the Anna stare. That'll teach them.

I don't know what I'll do next Saturday without my Gamecocks. Mom says they're finished for a while, but not for the year. She says they get to play in something called a "bowl game". I think there are too many of them to fit into a bowl, but I guess Mom knows what she's talking about. I don't know what I'll wear for that bowl game. Mom says my overalls are getting too short!!

As always, GO COCKS!
