It started as a pretty normal day. Mom went to big work, I went to Mrs. Leigh Ann's. But then, after Aunt Mere picked me up, we went to a parade! I knew what parades were because I watched that big one on TV last week. But I got to go to this one for real. Aunt Mere, Brenna, and I picked Mom and Colin up at Grandmom's and headed uptown.
Mom went bonkers, I think, because when we got there, she put shoes on me. She zipped my jacket all the way up and made me put the hood on my head. (She messed up my hair!!) AND she put big fuzzy socks on my HANDS! Socks do not go on your hands, Mom. She said it was because it was cold outside and we were going to be sitting outside for a while. Then she wrapped me in my blanket and we went to find a good spot.
I let Brenna borrow my hat because it was too big for me and I didn't want her head to be cold. :)
We sat by the road and waited for the parade.
The parade came along the street. I saw police cars and fire trucks and people waving. I really liked the men in the tiny red cars. They were going so fast! And they weren't going straight, either! They were driving all over the place! It was very exciting!!
