We Are The Champions, My Friends....

I love Saturday! First of all, I slept for 11 hours last night. From 9 until 8. It was great. So refreshing. :) Mom thought it was great too.

This morning we had a little bit of an issue. Mom had a huge cake and the people sent word that they were coming WAY earlier than Mom had planned. The cake was still in the pans. In 9 pieces. It was Grandmom to the rescue!! She came and played with me while Mom worked very fast!

While Grandmom was here, I got to play with a new toy. It was Brenna's when she was a baby, but she let me have it to play with now. I found it very interesting....

Holy cow! Mirror baby is in there!!! I love that girl!

After I played with my new toy, Grandmom went home. Mom and I hung out together. We took a little nap together. I took a really long nap. Mom did some weird stuff while I was sleeping. I'll talk some more about that tomorrow.
After my really long nap, it was game time!!! I was nervous about this game all day. This was a very important game for my Gamecocks. The Gamecocks had to go down to a place called "Florida" to a place called "The Swamp" to play some people called "Gators". Mom said that the Gamecocks had never won a game in this swamp place before and that it was super important for them to win there today. Mom said that if the Gamecocks won today, they would be the champions of the Eastern part of the SEC. That's never happened before. It's a big deal. If the Gamecocks won, they would get to play Auburn (those nasty Tigers) again for the SEC Championship. My Gamecocks could be the Champions of the SEC?!? That would be amazing! But we had to beat the Gators first. I was hopeful...

Just before the game, Aunt Mere, Uncle Corey, Colin, and Brenna came by. They brought Mom some dinner from Groucho's (she was so excited!) and played with me. :)

Game Time! The very first play of the game, one of those Gators grabbed the ball and ran all the way down the field to score. I did not like that!

During the game, Mrs. Patti and Ms. Tish came to see me. It's always good to see Mrs. Patti and it was good to meet Ms. Tish!! We kept watching the game. The Gamecocks straightened up right away. The offense was scoring pretty well and the defense was stopping the Gators from scoring any more points. The Gamecocks were winning at halftime when they went to take their break!
After halftime, the Gamecocks kept up the good work! They scored some more points and only let the Gators score one more time. My favorite Gamecock, Spencer Lanning, had a great game and scored lots of points for us. At the end of the game, it was 36-14 and my Gamecocks were the Champions of the SEC East!! The players dumped some sort of juice on Coach Spurrier, Marcus Lattimore did a little gator chomp, and the players carried Coach Spurrier on their shoulders. It was so very exciting!!

I love my Gamecocks! I'm so proud of them. I hope we win next week and then again the week after that. Mom said the week after next is critical. She said we have to play those Clemson Tigers then. I hope we stomp on them. GO COCKS!!!
